Item 8.01 Other Events.

On March 26, 2022, Aligos Therapeutics, Inc. (the “Company”) received notice of a complaint (the “Complaint”) filed by Janssen Biopharma, LLC (“Janssen”). The Complaint was filed in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of San Mateo, against the Company, Lawrence M. Blatt, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Company, and Leonid Beigelman, President and Director of the Company.

The Complaint alleges breach of contract by Lawrence M. Blatt and Leonid Beigelman and tortious interference with contract by the Company and seeks declaratory judgment of ownership of certain intellectual property by the Company, among other claims. The Complaint states that Janssen is seeking injunctive relief and monetary damages.

The Company believes the allegations in the Complaint are without merit and intends to defend itself vigorously.
